Western Michigan University Evaluates Return-to-Campus Plans

  • July 14, 2020

InfoReady Corporation, a leading provider of review management software to higher education, announced today that Western Michigan University (WMU) is one of the several universities using InfoReady’s software platform to finalize plans for returning to in-person instruction under the adversity of the COVID-19 pandemic. The platform is being used at WMU to collect, evaluate and select detailed proposals from various university offices as part of safely resuming on-campus classes after months of delivering instruction through distance education and continuing research.

Institutions of research and higher learning around the world are facing difficult choices about returning to an in-person campus experience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. WMU needs complex plans to ensure that faculty, staff, and students will be safe this fall.

To collect, review, and approve plans expeditiously and carefully, the University is employing InfoReady’s Review software platform. InfoReady Review is used by over 150 colleges and universities worldwide to manage internal grant solicitations, competitive workflows, and review / approval processes. The platform solicits proposals, collects them, routes them for review and approval among administrators, and then collects follow-on status reports from awarded parties.

Dr. Terri Goss Kinzy, Vice President of Research and Innovation at WMU, is among the leaders evaluating return proposals submitted by the university's departments. “Managing through COVID-19 is the greatest challenge facing the world of higher education right now. InfoReady Review is helping us quickly collect return-to-campus proposals from departments across our institution. It is automating the routing of these plans to critical decision makers."

InfoReady Chief Executive Officer Bhushan Kulkarni welcomed WMU’s use of the platform for this mission. “We exist to delight our customers. Seeing our customers use InfoReady Review in vital and creative ways makes us proud. The COVID-19 pandemic is shaking higher ed, and we are honored that universities are trusting our platform to make sure the best ideas are approved and executed to fight it. We are ready to serve.”

InfoReady is presently working with several other institutions across the country to implement its Review platform for rapid review and approval of pandemic-related operating plans.

InfoReady helps universities become cohesive, vibrant, competitive, and engaging communities through a software platform transforming higher education.
